Raznatovic is a financially motivated cyber extortion group that emerged from the rebooted operations of the RansomedVC ransomware-as-a-service (RaaS) syndicate. Initially surfacing in August 2023 as an underground forum, RansomedVC quickly transitioned into a data leak site. The group gained notoriety for its unique extortion model, which leverages the threat of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) fines against European Union-based victims in addition to demanding a ransom for stolen data. Following a reported shutdown of RansomedVC in late 2023 due to alleged arrests, the group's administrator, who previously used the alias 'RansomedSupport' and now identifies as 'RaznatovicAdmin', resurrected the operation under the name 'Raznatovic' using the same infrastructure. This continuity highlights a strategic pivot rather than a complete disbandment, allowing the group to maintain its operational capabilities and continue its extortion activities.
