The Cyber Caliphate Army (CCA) is a pro-ISIS hacking group that emerged in January 2015, operating as a digital extension of the Islamic State. The group's primary motivation is to promote militant jihadist ideologies and disrupt the operations of perceived adversaries through cyber-attacks and propaganda. CCA gained notoriety for its activities, including website defacements, data leaks, and Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks, often targeting government and media organizations in Western countries. Over time, the CCA merged with other pro-ISIS groups, such as the Sons Caliphate Army (SCA) and the Kalashnikov E-Security Team, to form the United Cyber Caliphate (UCC) in April 2016. While operating under various names including CyberCaliphate and Islamic State Hacking Division, these groups maintained a consistent focus on low-sophistication, high-impact cyber vandalism and information operations, although the direct involvement of the Islamic State leadership is not consistent
